Actress Deepika Padukone Younger Sister Golfer Anisha Padukone

Actress Deepika Padukone (born 1986) may be one of the top heriones in Bollywood, but younger sister Anisha Padukone (born 1991), is one amongst India’s young golfers.

“We have  a six year age difference between us. And when we were growing up, like other siblings we used to have our fights very often for small things like chocolates, toys etc. But when I moved to Mumbai four years back, I realised how important she is to me. Also now, the equation we share has changed. Earlier I used to feel as we have a six year gap she is too young to understand the things I do. But today, even though I am as protective as a mother for her, she is my best and closest friend. I share a deep bond with her and now I  share everything that I have with her and it’s the same for her as well.”

So is she into films as much as sports? “No she isn’t much of a film person. She loves sports. Actually that runs in our blood. (Smiles) We all love sports. Anisha is much focused to represent India as a golfer on international platform. But one thing is certain – she isn’t keen on becoming an actor or anything. It’s golf and only golf for her at the moment. She is not interested in films. Her complete focus is on golf and she is a born athlete. Even if offers do come, I don’t think she will take them up. But if she is interested, as an elder sister I will support her.”

One thing that she misses is her family. “When I get up in the morning and sit for breakfast alone, I feel really lonely. I miss the family time we had while growing up. I love to spend as much time with them as possible and I love this life as well. But I will love it more if I can spend more time with my sister, dad and mum.”
