She has decorated her bachelor pad in soft pastels, what with the curtain colour flowing into wall paint and providing a soothing touch. She’s fond of empty spaces, hence her house is bereft of clutter and sports comfy cane furniture. Small antiques and heirlooms add a touch of royalty to the place.

I have done it up in cream and the curtains are in white. I believe the place where you sleep should be gentle and soft. It’s quiet, calm and peaceful. When it’s breezy outside, I sit here feeling like a heroine from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film.

"I love the ledge in the bedroom. I often hop from it onto my bed. The platform divides the bedroom into two parts -- one is my private space where I sleep and the other is a sort of comfort zone filled with all the things that makes a girl’s life come alive."

It’s a multi-dimensional space with pretty, soothing lights. I have placed a Turkish rug, which I bought during my last visit to Turkey. A print of Gustav Klimt’s painting ‘The Kiss’ adorns the wall next to the platform. As opposed to the soft textures in the sleeping area, I have used a deep burnt orange in the other part of the room. My work desk is an old piece of furniture from my Nani with a small altar in one corner.

The living room

This being the first room when you enter the house, I usually keep the lights on so that it feels inviting. I love to gaze at the sea from the huge window. Here you can hear the chirping of the birds, which is so soothing. I keep my meetings in this room and entertain my houseguests here. I have divided this too into two parts — one is a small dining area and in the other I’ve placed a couch.

I have my meals here. I’ve mostly used cane furniture because it’s light-weight and apt for small Mumbai flats. It also adds an old-world ambience.

When I first walked into this house, I loved the energy it emitted. The other thing that attracted me was its Jaisalmer flooring. It’s my favourite area.

I love to cook and serve people. But in the last year or so I’ve hardly cooked since I’ve been keeping busy. I can cook everything, even biryani but can’t boil eggs. I complained about it to my mom and she gifted me Froggy, the time keeper. It’s however, stopped working and hasn’t turned into a handsome prince either. Sigh. But I love it. Though I don’t cook much, every now and then I do make beauty concoctions for myself.
