Supriya, what was your first impression of him when he came over?

Supriya Bopanna: I thought he was a nice, sweet guy. You meet a lot of people when you go (out), but I didn't think I was going to meet someone in that sense.

Rohan Bopanna: The first time she met me, I was bald! I had a bet with my trainer that if I reached the quarterfinals of Wimbledon (in 2010), I'd shave my head, which I did. So I don't know if I made much of an impression then.

How did he propose?

Supriya Bopanna: Rohan got in touch with my best friend even before meeting her for my ring size. I wasn't sure of my ring size, so she tricked me into going to a jeweller's store to find out. He then booked a room at a five-star hotel in the city and took me there, telling me he was booking a honeymoon suite for a friend who was getting married the following month. We got to the room and Rohan's a bundle of nerves. He opened the balcony door and there were rose petals everywhere, candles, a cake that said, 'Please marry me', a champagne bottle and a camera rolling to capture every moment. And I was still wondering, 'Why is this friend's room done up so soon?' (laughs). Then, he was down on one knee! After that, we went for dinner and everyone we're close to was there, to celebrate with us.

What are your favourite things about each other?

Supriya Bopanna: I like that he has his heart in the sport and he's honest about it. I respect the kind of son he is, the kind of brother he is, the kind of son-in-law he is. He was a good boyfriend, a good fiance and he's a good husband.

Rohan Bopanna: After we got married, my father-in-law told me that their house had gotten quiet. I can see that now, because she brings a lot of energy to our home. I've spent so much of my life travelling alone, so I keep things to myself. She always asks me what's wrong and I come out with it. I guess it comes naturally to her, since she's a psychologist, and that's the thing I like most about her.

What are the things that annoy you about each other?

Rohan Bopanna: We're still learning about each other since it's been just two months that we started living under the same roof.

Supriya Bopanna: We both have been willing to learn about each other as we are very different. My field is something he was never into, but he's always asking me how my day was, and how a particular client was.

Supriya, you went to Chennai and Australia to watch Rohan play tournaments there. What was that like?

Supriya Bopanna: I realize how his entire journey has been, and what he's been through to get where he is today. He is so disciplined. It's nice to see when the players are on tour. And then to go for his matches to cheer him on, and be a bundle of nerves and see him after his match it's a very slow, lazy nice life (for me).

Rohan Bopanna: When she's with me, I make an effort to go and take a look at the city we are playing at. Otherwise, I go to the tennis court, then head for my meal and come back. I am so tired, and there's no motivation to go out and explore. When she's there, she reads up on stuff to do. We do at least 30% of it, which is more than I used to do.

Have you had the chance to go on a honeymoon yet?

Supriya Bopanna: We're still in our honeymoon phase though we haven't gone on a holiday. I'll be going with him for Wimbledon after I graduate and I plan to travel with him before I start working.

Rohan Bopanna: We plan to go for our honeymoon sometime after Wimbledon because we couldn't do it right after the wedding. We might go to Europe.

What are your plans for V-Day?

Rohan Bopanna: I'll be off on tour. Anyway, there are only two days that are really important and those are our birthdays and anniversary.

Supriya Bopanna: Every day is Valentine's Day. At least, that's the plan.
