Nimrat Kaur is an Indian film & theatre actress. After playing the female lead in the Irrfan Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starrer 'The Lunchbox', she was praised by critics for her performance.

Nimrat Kaur was born on March 13, 1982 in Pilani, Rajasthan to parents Avinash Sethi (Mother). Nimrat Kaur have an younger sister named Rubina Singh Sohi. Brought up in Delhi by her mother, after her father passed away when she was very young. Her father was in the army.

After completing her graduation from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi. She came to Mumbai nine years ago to pursue her dream of becoming an actor. Like most aspirants in the city, she got her portfolio clicked and distributed her pictures to various production houses.  She went for a number of auditions everyday. Her first break came with Kumar Sanu and Shreya Ghoshal’s music video, 'Tera Mera Pyaar'. Nimrat Kaur went on to bag many commercials, including those for Asian Paints, Kaya Skin Clinic & Cadbury Dairy Milk-Silk.

Starting her career as a print model, Nimrat Kaur moved to doing theatre. She has been part of plays like Baghdad Wedding (2012), All About Women and Red Sparrow. 

Nimrat Kaur made her acting debut with a small role in an English film, One Night with the King (2006), which was shot in Rajasthan.
